Jennie's Operation

As many of you will already know, Jennie was diagnosed with MS in October 2009. The last year has seen a rapid decline in her health with little or no diagnoses for improvement.

However, there is finally a ray of hope on the horizon! A condition called 'chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency' (CCSVI) has been identified as one of the principal causes of MS symptoms. It describes the compromised flow of blood in the veins draining the central nervous system. You can read more about it here: http://www.ccsvi.co.uk/
Through a simple procedure, these veins can be unblocked, significantly reducing or preventing altogether future MS symptoms. There are many cases already where people have regained their faculties within days of the operation, literally getting up and walking after spending years trapped in wheelchairs.

The first stage of identifying whether or not you have CCSVI is to undergo a simple scan - Jennie had this scan before Christmas and it confirmed that she has the condition and is a suitable candidate for the op.

The long and the short of it is, this is the best and only chance Jennie has of making a recovery. However, this treatment is not currently available on the NHS - only private clinics are offering the procedure at a cost of £5500.

Jennie is currently booked in for the operation on January 10th 2011 at a clinic in Warsaw, Poland - you can read about it here: www.ameds.pl/
We desperately need to raise money to cover the cost of the operation, and ask all of Jennie's friends and family to help out in this time of need. Any support you can give would be so gratefully received.

You can help by clicking the 'donate' button on the right hand side of the page - this will allow you to donate directly through PayPal.

Many thanks,
Caroline Flynn (Jen’s sister) xxx
